This course provides an introductory, investigation of Anglo-American legal rules, governing acquisition, ownership, transfer, and, use of real and personal property. We examine, acquisition of property through the law of, finders, the rule of capture, and the doctrine of, adverse possession. We consider ownership and, transfer of property by studying estates in land,, concurrent ownership, and future interests. We, investigate use rights through landlord/tenant, law, nuisance rules, and public and private land, use controls. The course emphasizes the tension, between public needs and private desires in the, allocation, transfer, and development of property, rights, and applicable constitutional limitations.
