This course examines the fundamentals of entrepreneurial thinking and activity through the lens of the liberal arts. Students will be introduced to the entrepreneurial mindset and skills needed to create positive change in any setting. You will learn to design, test, and launch new ventures by understanding complex systems, recognizing opportunities, validating customer and community needs, identifying viable for-profit and not-for-profit business models and strategies, and effectively implementing and marketing your efforts vis-à-vis partners, funders, end-users and other key stakeholders. Student performance will be evaluated through class participation & preparation, a number of short assignments, one exam, and a final term project and presentation.
