examines the theoretical assumptions and values
underlying approaches to the treatment of major
mental health issues and other presenting issues
such as child behavior problems, addiction,
suicide, familial violence, and families managing
acute and chronic medical conditions. Specific
assessment techniques and tools are discussed,
evaluated, practiced, and applied to clinical
diagnoses and treatment planning, including risk
assessment and crisis intervention.
