Introduction to epistemologies, paradigms, and
methodologies in social science research.
Students learn about different approaches used in
education research and examine their underlying
assumptions and values. The course addresses and
critiques some of the long-standing traditions in
education and social science research that have
privileged certain values and viewpoints while
marginalizing others. Students will read and
critique a variety of education research articles
and consider how education leaders can use
research for advocacy and transformative social
action.
