This Introduction to Sociology class will investigate social inequalities of various kinds, and activist strategies that are being used to confront those inequalities. We will examine topics which include feminism, anti-racism, class inequalities, environmental problems, and activist efforts to achieve change around these kinds of issues. Key learning objectives include developing knowledge of sociological concepts, improving the ability to engage critically with academic material, and strengthening public presentation skills.
