This course will provide a strengths-based, orientation to serving multilingual learners, emphasizing social justice. Content areas will, include language acquisition models and the nature, of second-language acquisition and proficiency,, knowledge and skills to work with linguistically, and culturally diverse families, multilingual, curricular models and practices, instructional, approaches and resources for educators, a history, of multilingual education in the US, and legal, ethical, and professional practice considerations.
