Interactions between organisms and their physical and biological environment. Ecology of populations, communities, and ecosystems, theoretical and empirical approaches. Applications of ecological principles to conservation issues and other environmental problems. Classes use team-based learning. In laboratory, students learn to conduct ecological studies and interpret (using R for data display and statistical analysis) and communicate their results.
